UMPlayer is a free multiplatform open source multimedia player. It can stream and record audio/video content from YouTube, plus it has over 200 audio and video integrated codecs, which make it compatible with almost every multimedia file including DivX, Flash and H.264.
It is indeed a universal media player: the program plays audio and video files, it supports subtitle files, includes 270 multimedia codecs, supports TV/Radio cards, streams and records directly from YouTube as well as SHOUTcast radio stations and has many more features.
UMPlayer is an advanced player: it remembers previously used settings and can work as a DVD player device, for it remembers the position it last stopped playing files.

UMPlayer is customizable in appearance and variouos skins can be applied, it has an audio equalizer with preconfigured effects, it can take screenshots from videos, it adjusts audio and subtitle delays, and can search for SHOUTcast stations and YouTube videos directly from its interface.

This program is just amazing. Similar programs, such as VLC, don’t have such extensive list of features as this one. Other features include a multi-region DVD player, custom hotkeys, video and audio filters and Windows, Linux and Mac OS support.
